A short 2 weeks assignment in my 2nd year of my bachelors degree in industrial design the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design. I was told to design a handle for a knife. It needed to be functional first and foremost, for use and for manufacturing...Industrial. After that you can throw in whatever seems aesthetically pleasing to you.
I couldn't wrap my head around it, anyone (in my class) can make a pretty knife but what for? Finally I came up with this Idea. A knife with a pivoting handle to (better) fit RIGHT/LEFT handed people. .
Not exactly dealing with the 99 percent real problems but it addresses an issue (ir)relevant for 93/7 percent of us. Basically everybody.
